Documenting a Home Restoration

Late in 2007, The Painting Pros asked me to photograph their restoration of one of Charlotte's most historic homes. The Thomas Alexander House was originally built on farmland but Charlotte has grown up around it and now it's located in the middle of the South Park area.

I visited the work site every few days during the restoration to document the crew's work.

In addition to photographing the home, I did some research on it's history and, at the request of The Painting Pros, I submitted a summary of the project to the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) for consideration in their 2008 Picture It Painted Professionally (PIPP) Awards Program. The Painting Pros won that award for Mid-Atlantic Region and now the Thomas-Alexander House restoration is up for consideration for a national award.

Congratulations to The Painting Pros and good luck!
